Blog #18 : Through the Mirror : Chapter 7 (Finale)

It was the third day since Skylar and Merlin had been abducted by the cloaked men. Charlie had been furiously working on the plan to infiltrate the castle where the siblings were being held hostage. He had practically finished it, but he wasn't really prepared to battle fully trained men. He had had visions of Skylar and Merlin every night in his sleep, and they were still alive. However, something was wrong with Skylar...

Charlie read spell book upon spell book for days, and trained himself as much as he could. He felt as though he could possibly fend off a few enemies, but not a whole army. However, he couldn't wait any longer, he had to save them. Every night, he could see that Skylar and Merlin were in a worse condition, and they needed help desperately.

Charlie grabbed his wand, put on his cloak, and headed outside. It was a rather nice day today, the sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky. This lifted Charlie's mood greatly.

Charlie hopped onto Starlight, and headed off into the distance, following the map to Demons Castle. He had been travelling for about 45 minutes, when he saw it. He saw Demons Castle. It came into view over the horizon, and it was fascinating. It had a large moat all around it, and four enormous towers looming over the kingdom. However, it also had dozens of guards patrolling the outside (and most likely the inside) of the castle, so Charlie halted, and slid off of Starlight. He then tied her up on a tree, and duck behind a bush.

He examined the positioning of the guards, and substituted his plan into that. He made his way closer to the castle, and slowly crouched behind one of the men guarding the sewers. He then muttered a spell under his breath with made the guard gently sway, and collapse to the ground. Charlie grew a large grin on his face, and rushed down to the sewer entrance. He pulled it open, and entered.

Charlie's face crinkled at the disgusting smell, but pushed on. He made his way through the winding paths down in the sewer until he reached a ladder, that supposedly, led up to the dungeons. He climbed up the ladder, trying to make as little noise as possible, and slowly opened the trapdoor. He peered into the room, and it was clear of guards. He pushed the door open, and climbed up into the room. The walls were made of damp stone, and you could smell the oldness of the room.

Charlie heard footsteps emitting from the room next to him, and dashed for a large wooden wardrobe, where he hid in.

"Have you tended to the girl?" A mans voice said.

"Yes, she has had her daily dose." Another said.

Charlie tried to comprehend what this meant. 'Her daily dose' ? What could this mean? However, he knew it was about Skylar.

The footsteps got quieter and quieter until Charlie could no longer here them. He exited the wardrobe, and headed for the room next door. He peered through, and saw prison cells. He recognised this place. It was the place in his dreams.

"Skylar? Merlin?" He whispered as he entered the room.

"Charlie! Over here! You found us! They've taken Skylar, i haven't seen her for days!" Merlin whispered in one of the cells on the other side of the room.

"Merlin! Thank god you're alright!"

Charlie ran over to Merlin's cell, and unlocked it with a flick of his wand.

"Charlie...?"

Charlie stopped dead.

"Is that you?"

Charlie's heartbeat rose dramatically, and he could feel his eyes swelling up. He slowly turned around, and faced the another cell.

"Charlie! Son!" Yelled Tim.

"DAD!" Bellowed Charlie.

He ran over to his dad's cell, unlocked it, and lunged himself at his dad with open arms.

"How are- What happ- Why-" Charlie stuttered.

"Shhhh! I'll explain later, we need to get out of here, we've attracted the guards!" Said Tim.

Charlie unlocked his dad's chains, and the same with Merlin, and the headed for the exit.

"Stop right there!" Yelled a guard.

Charlie, Merlin and Tim stopped. Charlie stood in front, seeing as he was the only person armed with a wand.

"You won't be leaving this castle alive, boy!"

"Ya' think?" Charlie replied.

Charlie shot a large blue spark out of his wand, which hit the ceiling, making it collapse on all of the guards below it.

"RUN!" Yelled Charlie.

They all ran out of the door, and locked it behind them.

"We need to find Skylar." Said Charlie.

"I don't think we need to look much further..." Said Tim.

Charlie looked at where his dad was facing, and saw Skylar standing, gazing at them with dreary eyes.

"Skylar!" Yelled Merlin.

"No, wait!" Charlie shouted.

He ran to his sister, but she raised her hand and a large bolt of lightning shot out the end of it, hitting Merlin square in the chest, sending him flying back against the wall.

Charlie's face dropped.

"MERLIN!" He exclaimed, as he ran over to his limp body.

"HE'S DEAD! HE'S DEAD!" He cried at the top of his voice.

Tim stumbled onto a table, and it held all of the confiscated items that the prisoners had. He saw his wand and grabbed it. He then faced Skylar, and cast a spell directly at her. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head, and she hit the ground.

"DAD!"

"Don't worry, she's just unconscious! Quick, we need to get to the portal!" Tim yelled.

Charlie picked Skylar up gently, and held her in his arms. He ran to the door, but looked back at Merlin.

"I'm sorry."

He ran out of the room, and up the grand staircase which led to the top of the castle. Seeing as Charlie's hands were full, Tim went in front and fended off the guards. Charlie hadn't planned this far ahead, so he didn't know exactly where he was going from here, but his dad did.

"This way, son!" He yelled.

Charlie run up the last flight of stairs after his dad, and the reached large double wooden doors. Charlie kicked them open with all the energy he had, and entered.

There it was. The portal. It was very large, and encrusted with all types of gems, just like the mirror.

Charlie and his dad looked at each other, and ran towards the portal. To Charlie, it felt like everything was going in slow-motion at this point. They reached the portal, and Tim grabbed Charlie by the hand, and the jumped. Just before the entered the portal, Charlie turned around.

"Merlin!" He yelled.

Merlin had entered the portal room.

It was too late, Charlie and Tim had gone. They span through complete darkness, Charlie grabbed onto Skylar as tightly as she could, and then they hit the cold, hard ground.

Charlie lay there for a while, then lifted his head up. He was in the one place he wanted to be. His home. The portal must have tapped into his mind, and taken him here.

"Merlin..." He whispered to himself.

"Charlie, it's too late. The portal would have closed now, we only just made it, the guards were permanently shutting it down." Said Tim.

Charlie didn't know what to do. All that he did do, was look at Skylar. She was lying, unconscious on the pavement next to Charlie.

Charlie bent down, and kissed her gently on the lips.

She began to stir, and opened her eyes.

"Ch- Charlie?" She muttered.

Charlie smiled.

"It's ok, we're safe now." He said to her.

She sat up, and looked around.

"Wh- Where are we?" She asked.

"Skylar, this is Earth." Charlie explained.

Skylar's face lit up, and she slowly stood on her feet.

"Mum!" Charlie yelled, as she opened the front door.

"Charlie? TIM!?" She bellowed.

Tim ran up to her, and gave kissed her.

Charlie cringed, and held Skylar's hand.

"Come on, let's go inside."

Charlie led Skylar into the house, and they sat down in the living room.

"Let me go and get you a drink, Skylar" He said.

Charlie left the room and entered the kitchen. As he was about to pour some juice into a glass, he spotted the newspaper on the kitchen table, and it read.

"Double child murder on Orchard street, London. The children have been named Skylar and Merlin Grey."

The End.

Blog #17 : Through the Mirror : Chapter 6

Charlie, Skylar and Merlin were now sitting in a small, crooked pub in a small side road, and were all sipping at their hot chocolates.

"I'm sure of it, it was my dad!" Charlie explained.

"But...Charlie...you said your dad died." Said Skylar.

"Yeah, and he did. I don't know how, or why he's here, but i'm sure that was him!" Charlie pleaded.

Skylar frowned.

"Surely it's impossible for him to be here." Merlin said.

"Well...i suppose. But he looked exactly like my dad! Well, i guess it wasn't really him, it couldn't have been. He would've come to me if it was him. I can hope though." Charlie finished.

They all finished their hot chocolates, and left the pub. The weather had changed drastically. It was now heavily raining, with the odd spot of thunder and lighting. The trio put their hoods on and headed for the horses at the entrance of the city.

"Charlie, you have a look around the shops, me and Merlin will go and gather some mushrooms for tonight's dinner! Meet us back here in 15 minutes!" Skylar explained.

Charlie nodded and headed off to wander the city.

15 minutes later, Charlie reconvened at the horses as planned, but they weren't there. Lightning struck extremely loudly, and Charlie jumped a little. He began to get slightly worried, so headed in the direction of where they went. There was no sign of them.

"Skylar! Merlin!" Charlie bellowed over the loudness of the dreadful weather.

There was no reply.

Charlie saw a hooded man run between the tree's in the distance, and a quick glimpse of dazzling blonde hair. He started running towards the man as fast as he could, the rain and wind hitting his face.

"CHARLIE! HELP!" Screamed a girl.

It was Skylar.

"SKYLAR!"

Charlie saw Skylar and Merlin being held over the should by two cloaked men.

"NO!" Charlie exclaimed at the top of his voice.

There was a loud crack, and they were gone.

Charlie was breathing heavily, hair sopping wet, clothes completely drenched, tears streaming down his face. He ran back to the horses, jumped onto Starlight, and attempted riding of back to the tree.

He tried to copy what Skylar did on the horse, and it worked quite well. 20 minutes later, he had arrived at the tree, where he tied up the horse, and entered. He chucked off his coat, ran up to his bed, laid on it, and started sobbing to himself.

"Charlie, help us." Said Skylar

She was locked up in a prison cell with Merlin. She had cuts all over her face, and was tied up to a wall. Charlie then saw a large, intimidating castle looming over him.

Demons Castle.

Charlie shot up, and looked at the clock. It was 7 o'clock the next morning. He rubbed his eyes, and felt tears running down his face.

"Be brave, Charlie." He said to himself as he wiped the tears away.

Blog #16 : Through the Mirror : Chapter 5

It had been a week since Charlie had arrived in Caspia, and he had settled in rather nicely. He had got to know Skylar and Caspia much more, and they began to really grow on him. However, he still needed to get back home, to his mum.

They had all looked at the plan to infiltrate the castle, and agreed they wanted to get a better look at the castle.

"G'morning!" Said Skylar, when Charlie came down the staircase.

"Morning, Skylar" He replied.

Charlie sat down at the table and started tucking into his full English breakfast that had been prepared by Skylar.

"This is delicious" Charlie commented

"Just like always!" He added.

Skylar smiled and went upstairs to get dressed, and as she did, Merlin came down. He lunged himself onto the sofa and started reading a book. Charlie felt that he was closer to Skylar than he was to Merlin, but wasn't too sure why. A few minutes later, Charlie went upstairs to get changed, and Merlin shouted to him.

"Hey Charlie, we're gunna go to the city today, dress up nice and warm!"

"Ok, sure!" Charlie replied.

Charlie ran up the staircase and into his room, where he saw Skylar making his bed for him.

"Oh you really don't need to do that, ya'know!" Charlie remarked.

"Oh don't worry about it, I don't mind. Oh and did Merlin tell you we're going to the City? When you're dressed, come outside, I've got a surprise for you!" Skylar replied with a grin on her face as she left the room.

Charlie racked his brain to try and think what this mysterious surprise could be, but nothing came to mind. He whipped on the warmest clothes that Skylar had bought him a few days ago, and scurried down the stairs as fast as he could. He stopped at the bottom, and realised that that is exactly what he did on his birthday. He shook it off, and put a smile on his face and began running again, to the front door. He stepped outside, and saw two, large white horses. His mouth fell open at how beautiful the creatures were, and walked closer to them.

"Charlie, meet Starlight and Shadow." Announced Skylar.

Charlie couldn't take his eyes off of them, it was like something magic was pulling him nearer and nearer.

"Charlie, you can share mine, Starlight. Hop on!" Skylar said.

Skylar jumped onto Starlight, and Merlin jumped onto Shadow. Charlie had never ridden a horse in his life, so couldn't help but feel worried, yet extremely excited at the same time. He walked over to Starlight and grabbed Skylar's hand, and she pulled him up.

He felt much more superior on top of Starlight. He felt like he was free to travel the world, and see what Caspia had to offer him. (If he could ride a horse, that was...).

"Ready?" Asked Skylar.

"No..." Replied Charlie.

Skylar laughed and galloped off into the dark forest. Charlie didn't realise he would be thrown back so much, so instantly grabbed onto Skylar's waist. They galloped through the deep forest, until the emerged into the snowy hillside above the beach, and joined onto the gravel path that was signed.

"To the city".

Merlin led the way most of the time, with Skylar and Charlie bringing up the rear. After 20 minutes of constant galloping along the gravel path, the city came into site, and Charlie's face lit up at the amount of people that were bustling through the streets and sidewalks, and then Skylar and Merlin came to a halt.

"Here we are!" Announced Merlin.

They trio dismounted the horses, and tied them up outside a pub named.

"The Duo Of Wands".

They all started walking down the main street in the City, and Charlie was glaring at all the fascinating shops that were selling the most amazing things. He suddenly realised he had no money, so his smile dropped.

"Skylar, I don't have any money!" He exclaimed above all the hustle and bustle of the City people.

"Oh don't worry about that, our parents left us a fortune in their will!" She replied with a laugh.

Charlie didn't say anything, as he couldn't wait to get his hands on the goods that were for sale. He walked past a shop called.

"Ye' olde broomsticks"

Inside, were dozens of different styles of broomstick, and decorations for people to personalise them with. Then he passed another shop called.

"Percy's Potions."

Charlie's eyes glowed when he strolled passed this shop, as she saw shelves full of dozens upon dozens of different coloured potions, and some people were testing them. One person drunk one and started flying all over the place! Charlie gave out a little laugh of disbelief.

All of a sudden, there was an extremely loud bang that came from the street around the corner. The trio looked at each other with worried expressions, and ran for the source of the noise. They turned the corner and saw about 30 people crowded around a few men. There was one cloaked man, who looked to be fighting a 4 other men, who looked quite official. Police men, Charlie thought. The cloaked man shot a huge red spark out the end of his wand, and it hit the floor in between the other men, who all went flying up into the air, and landing with a loud thug. Everything cried out.

"Ouch!.."

Then Skylar said.

"We should do something!"

"No, they wouldn't listen to teenagers Skylar, let's just watch!" Merlin said followed by a laugh.

Skylar sighed, and stood their helplessly.

The four men got up, and all shot the same spell. Charlie thought this would be the end for the cloaked man, when suddenly, he cast a spell which looked like a sort of force field, which deflected all four spells, sending them back to the caster. The four men all fell back, unconscious.

All the bystanders fell silent, and stepped away, allowing the cloak man to leave the circle. Then it happened. The cloaked man turned and faced Charlie. Charlie's face dropped, and he fell to the floor.

Skylar and Merlin screamed and pulled Charlie up.

"Charlie! What's wrong!?" Skylar exclaimed.

Charlie didn't answer. Instead, he began running to the man, and tried to catch up with him through the already bustling crowd. He manoeuvred through the crowd, and came out the other side.

The man had gone.

Skylar and Merlin had caught up with him.

"Charlie! What is it? What's wrong?" Asked Skylar.

"It was...It was my Dad."

Blog #15 : Through the Mirror : Chapter 4

Charlie couldn't stop gazing at the enormous tree that lay in front of him.

"Don't just stand there, come in!" Said Merlin.

Charlie jumped a little, as he was so engaged with looking at the tree. He nodded, and followed them to the front door. It was fairly small, and completely made out of oak wood. There were little window sills either side of the door, with large rose's planted in them. The three of them entered the tree, and the first thing Charlie noticed was the potent smell of freshly baked cakes, and cinnamon. He found this very comforting. He looked around the room, and saw a living room area, with a book case and a couple of cozy looking sofas. He saw that there was no modern facilities, like TV's and game consoles. He saw a very cute looking kitchen, with a large oven, and a small wooden table next to the wooden wall, and a small window. There was then a spiral staircase also made out of wood, which looked intriguing.

"Well, this is our home, Charlie." Said Skylar.

"Where are your parents?" Charlie asked, curiously.

There was a moment of awkward silence, and Skylar and Merlin looked at each other sheepishly.

"They're...dead." Said Merlin.

Skylar looked very sad, but didn't show any sign of crying. Charlie thought this was probably because it might had been such a long time since they lost their parents, so they were getting used to it.

"I'm...I'm really sorry to hear that." Said Charlie.

Merlin shrugged, and stared out of the window.

"I forgot to ask, what about your parents?" Asked Skylar.

Charlie new this was coming, but didn't know he would be speechless. He took a deep breathe, and explained what had happened to his Dad, and how he left his mum in London, on her own.

Merlin and Skylar looked extremely shocked at what Charlie had just told them. Skylar walked over to him, and put her arm around him.

"Come on, I'll make you some hot chocolate." She said.

Charlie nodded, and smiled. He sat down at the table and stared out of the window. The weather had changed since he had arrived in Caspia. It was now very cloudy, and looked as though it was about to rain. Charlie looked quite confused about this, and then Skylar said.

"Oh don't worry about that, it happens all the time in Caspia, don't know about Earth, I've never been there."

She put the hot chocolate down on the table in front of him, and sat down.

"Skylar, is there any way of getting back to Earth? I can't just leave my mum!" Charlie asked.

"Well, there is ONE way. It's more or less impossible to do though. Basically, there is a portal in Demons Castle, and it goes directly to Earth. However, it's the most guarded place on the planet, you'd never get in there. Me and Merlin have been making a plan to get in there for years, but we've hit a dead end. We can't seem to get around the guards at the main staircase."

"Well, I'm sure i can help. I can't stay here, i need to get back! So, why are you planning to go to Earth?" Said Charlie.

"Well, what have we got to live for here? We might as well go exploring!" Replied Skylar.

Charlie shrugged in agreement, and took a sip of his hot chocolate.

A couple of hours later, it was starting to get dark, and Charlie was about to fall asleep on the living room sofa, so Skylar came over and shook him a little.

"Charlie? Charlie, we've cleared our spare bedroom for ya'. Come on!" She whispered.

Charlie sleepily got up, and walked up the spiral staircase to his new room. He walked in, and there was a very comfy looking bed, with a window behind it, and a desk opposite the bed. It was small, but he liked it.

"Thank you, Skylar." He said.

Skylar smiled kindly, and walked out and close the door.

Charlie stood there for a moment, just taking in what had happened in the past few hours, and sighed with disbelief. He shook his head, trying to stop thinking about his dad, and got into the pajamas that had been neatly folded on his bed for him, and slipped into bed.

The morning had arrived, and it was rather dark in Charlie's room, so he thought it was very early morning. He slowly slid out of his warm, cozy bed, and opened the curtains. To his surprise, it was heavily snowing, and the ground was already layered with about 5 inches of snow. He smiled to himself, and whispered.

"Crazy..."

He looked at the clock on the bedside table, and it read 7 o'clock. He decided to creep out of his room and down the spiral staircase. As he went down, he began to hear faint whispers coming from the living room. He reached the bottom, and saw Skylar and Merlin already up and dressed, whispering to each other with their backs to Charlie.

Charlie crept up behind them, trying to listen to what they were talking about. All he heard was.

"We need to help Charlie get back to Earth"

Before the floorboard creaked underneath his feet, and Skylar and Merlin turned around.

"Hey...!" Said Charlie.

Skylar and Merlin smiled, and started laughing.

Blog #11 : Through the Mirror : Chapter 3

Charlie was thrown around in the darkness, and the G-force hit him immensely. Suddenly, the world materialized around him, and he suddenly hit the floor, face buried in fresh, green grass. He didn't move, out of pure fear. He heard the sound of seagulls, and the sea crashing against the shore. Followed by laughing voices in the distance. He slowly lifted his head up, and observed his surroundings. He was on a small hill above a beautiful beach, with white sand and clear blue sea.

"Where am I?" He muttered to himself

Then it hit him. He wasn't holding the present his dad had bought him. His heart dropped, and he started thinking we it could be. He thought he might have let go of it when he was travelling through the mirror without noticing.

"No..." He whispered

Then he saw it. It was buried in the long, green grass about 3 meters away from where he materialized. He ran as fast as he could to grab hold of it, and sat in the grass holding it tightly. He thought he should open it, as he was very curious. He looked around him, just to make sure no one was watching, and then slowly took off the wrapping paper, that read.

"Birthday boy"

A single tear fell down Charlie's cheek.

"I'm sorry, Dad."

He took all of the wrapping paper off, and he gasped. It was a wand.

"Oh my god..." He said

He opened the box that the wand was encased in, and gasped, again.

"It's...it's beautiful."

It was about 10 inches long, and had quite a bulky handle in a ball shape, and then shaft was extremely thin. Charlie held it in his hands, and examined it.

"Who's that?" Shouted a voice from the beach.

Charlie's head shot up, and saw a young boy and girl walking up the hill towards him. Hi jumped up and pointed the wand at them.

"Don't come any closer!" He shouted

The two young teenagers looked at each other funnily, and then started laughing hysterically.

"We aren't going to hurt you! Mine name's Skylar, and this is my younger brother, Merlin." Said the girl.

Charlie's heart was beating fast, but slowly lowered his wand. He thought Skylar was beautiful. She had fairly long, blonde hair, and fascinating blue eyes. This didn't help his heart beat. Merlin was taller smaller than Charlie, with short, light brown hair. He had quite a peculiar face, but you could tell they were related.

"I'm Charlie. Where am I?" He asked

The two teenagers looked quite perplexed.

"You're in Caspia..." Said Skylar

"Where...?" Charlie asked

Skylar and Merlin looked at each other more confused than before.

"You really don't know, do you? Who are you?" Merlin queried

"I told you, I'm Charlie!" He shouted

No one said anything.

"I was in my basement, and i touched this mirror, and i ended up here?"

Skylar and Merlin looked extremely shocked.

"No way..." Said Merlin

"Charlie, are you from earth?" Skylar asked, slowly.

"Of course! ... Is this not Earth!?" He yelled

"No...this is the wizarding world of Caspia, Charlie." Replied skylar.

"You are a wizard, right?" Asked Merlin.

"Yeah, i am. I turned 14 today. I don't really know many spells, sorry for threatening you."

Skylar and Merlin both laughed together.

"It's fine" They said, in unison.

"Come, we'll show you our home!" Skylar said.

They started walking along the hill, away from the beach. No one said anything for a while, until Skylar and Merlin began whispering to themselves. Charlie admired the amazing surroundings, and then realized he was crying. He was thinking if his dad had ever been here, and that he would've loved it. He wiped away the tears quickly, trying not to look weak.

They reached a well canopied forest, with large oak tree's. Charlie carried on following the siblings into the forest. They turned a corner, and arrived in an opening. Charlie stopped, and stared. There was an enormous tree, with windows, and massive branches shooting out from the sides.

"This is our home, Charlie." Skylar said, with a smile etched on her face.

"It's...it's..." Charlie hesitated.

"It's beautiful" He finished.

Blog #9 : Through the Mirror : Chapter 2

Charlie had been walking the London streets for 10 minutes now, and had arrived at an empty park. Charlie examined the area, and then opened the creaky park gate. Smells of blossoming flowers and freshly cut grass made their way to Charlie's very cold nose, which slightly comforted him.

Charlie sat himself on an isolated swing, and then he heard a log CRACK. He jumped up and looked around him, nothing.

"Hello?" He said, in confusion.

"Charlie" Said a mysterious voice.

Charlie swung around and fell backwards onto the wet, frosted grass.

"Charlie, you've made a grave mistake, one which you will not forget. Fix it." Said the old, cloaked man, as he turned around.

With a CRACK, he had gone.

Charlie couldn't move, he was totally perplexed, and frightened at what the hooded man had told him. He pondered on what he had done which was so bad, and that he wouldn't possibly forget. All he could think of was shouting at his dad, but how bad is that?

He though he'd been out long enough to prove his point now, so started to head out of the park and onto the steadily growing busy streets of London.

As he started to walk down Orchard lane, he heard a car's brake's screech, and a loud bang, followed by several screams.

Charlie stopped, and looked in the direction of the sound.

"Rest in peace..." He whispered, and carried on walking.

He walked fairly slow on the way back, as the events of the morning had made him feel rather depressed. After 25 minutes of a unmotivated walk, he had finally arrived home, and saw a police car parked near his house. He wandered if that car crash had anything to do with one of his neighbours. He ran up the stairs and opened the front door with his key.

"Mum, I'm ho-" He stopped.

Charlie's mum was sitting at the kitchen table, surrounded by 3 or 4 police officers. His mum looked at him, and looked away again. Charlie dropped his coat on the floor, and walked slowly, zombie-like to the table.

"Hello, you must be Charlie." Said one of the policemen.

Charlie nodded slowly.

"We've got some bad news. Your dad has been involved in a car crash not far from here, just under half an hour ago. The paramedics didn't get to him in time, I'm sorry."

All happiness that had remained in Charlie had now left, he could feel he had gone deadly white, and that his eyes were watering.

"We'll leave you to it, sorry for your loss". Said another policemen.

"Oh, and we found this in his car". Said the quietest policemen. He handed over a present, and left.

Charlie looked at the label on the present, it read.

"Sorry, bud. Love dad x"

Charlie could hardly breath at this point, every breathe was painful. He could feel a tsunami of tears building up, so he ran for the basement door, and locked it behind him.

It had been 10 minutes, and Charlie was now lying on the cold, stone floor, curled up in a ball.

"The last thing I said to him was 'I hate you'." He repeated, hesitantly.

Charlie uncurled himself, and sat up. He didn't know what to do. He kept thinking it was all completely his fault. Then something caught his eye. It was a large object, with a white sheet over it. Charlie had never seen this before, so was very curious. He picked up his present, like it was his most prized possession, and headed to the object.

When he reached it, he suddenly felt a breeze of fresh, seaside air. He was extremely puzzled now. He raised his hand up, and reached for the sheet, and pulled it off with one quick motion.

"What the-"

There was a large, elaborate mirror, encrusted with all types of gems. However, Charlie could feel it. He could feel it wasn't an ordinary mirror. He could hear whispers, and the sound of the sea hitting shore.

"Well...what have i got to lose?" He thought to himself, with tears stained on his cheeks.

He raised his hand up, and reached for the mirror.

CRACK.

He fell into complete darkness, and his feet were no longer touching the solid ground.

Blog #8 : Through the Mirror : Chapter 1

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a story for a very long time now, and i thought i'd post a chapter at a time, whenever i feel like the chapter is perfect. So, keep an eye on my blog for updates on my novel Through the Mirror.

It was an extremely rainy day in London. The wind was howling, the bird songs had stopped, and the Hudsworth family were getting ready to have their Sunday roast.

"Charlie! Lay the table!" Yelled a middle-aged woman, she was rather tall, and had long brown hair.

"Yes, mum!" Replied Charlie with a grunt.

Charlie was a 13-year old boy, he had fairly long, dark brown hair, which was constantly ruffled and sticking out at the sides. However, the Hudsworth family weren't your ordinary family, they were of wizard blood. Well, Charlie's father was, not his mother. Charlie however, isn't allowed a wand until he's 14-years of age, which is wizard law, decree 52. Was Charlie happy about this? Not at all.

"Dad, do I really have to wait for my birthday, i mean it's tomorrow!" Yelled Charlie, stubbornly.

Charlie was an only child, and was used to getting his own way, whenever he wanted.

"Exactly, it's tomorrow" Replied his father, with a smirk.

Charlie's father was a very well spoken man, who didn't often use magic in front of Charlie, as he thought it may tempt him to moan even more.

"Dinner's ready!" Bellowed Charlie's mum, Emily.

The family of three made their way to the dining table, where all kinds of delicious foods lay, waiting to be consumed.

"Smells wonderful, Em!" Said Charlie's father, Tim.

Emily thanked him, with a smile etched on her bony face.

They all tucked into the assortment of lovely vegetables, and the mouth-watering lamb. Charlie stared out of the window, into the rainy and busy streets of London. The Hudsworth's lived in a very busy area of London, in a lovely town house. They had a few steps leading up to the front door, and flowers placed on the window sill.

After the late lunch, Charlie was too excited to do much, so after watching a bit of T.V, having a shower and saying goodnight to his parents, he headed to bed. He had a very nice bedroom. He had a double bed, and on the other side of the room was a desk with all sorts of wizarding books piled on top of each other, and an empty mug of hot chocolate.

The next day came, and the storm had cleared nicely. The sun was low in the sky, there was barely a cloud in sight, and the birds were tweeting merrily.

Charlie slowly opened his eyes, and suddenly remembered it was his fourteenth birthday! He looked at his clock on the bedside table, and the clock struck 8 o'clock. He smiled to himself, and jumped out of bed excitedly. He chucked his cozy dressing-gown on, and stormed out of his bedroom and hurried down the staircase.

"Happy birthday Charlie!" Said his parents in unison.

Charlie couldn't suppress a "Thank you", as he had spotted a heap of extremely neatly wrapped presents. This is the day Charlie had been waiting for since he found out about wizardry. Charlie lunged at the presents in sheer excitement.

"Charlie, I er- I can't stay for your birthday, I am truly sorry bud" Explained Tim.

Charlie stopped in his tracks. His dad was a very busy man, he didn't get to spend much time with him, but he thought he'd at least get to see him for the duration of his birthday. Charlie got to his feet slowly. He could feel his eyes swelling up.

"NOT EVEN FOR TODAY? I NEVER GET TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU, EVEN ON MY BIRTHDAY! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" Bellowed Charlie, with tears pouring down his face, whacking his dad.

Charlie chucked his shoes and coat on and ran out the front door. He was shivering all over, as he only had pajamas underneath his large coat. He didn't know what to do, he couldn't go back, so where could he go?

"Stupid Family" He whispered to himself.

Blog #6 : A quick short story!

Hey everyone!

I'd like to say thanks for all the views first, i never expected to get this many?! Haha! Hopefully i can get even more after I post this.

It was a miserable, rainy day in the city of New York. Hannah sat up in bed, and gave a big yawn. She slowly crawled out of bed, put her slippers on and walked to the kitchen. Hannah lived in a very modern penthouse in New York, overlooking Central park. She was a very wealthy young woman, aged 24.

Just as she was about to pour herself some orange juice, there was a loud bang at the door. Hannah slowly put the orange juice down, and walked to the door.

"Who is it?" She queried
"Your boyfriend..." Replied Tom

Hannah grew a large grin on her face, and opened the door, welcoming a large hug from Tom.

"How is my princess this morning?" He asked.
"She is very well, thank you" She replied.

Hannah started to make eggs for them, but Tom interrupted.

"Nah Hannah, let's go down to the cafe, get a proper breakfast. We all know you can't cook" Tom said, jokingly.

Hannah laughed, and got dressed, ready to face the horrible weather. 10 minutes later, they had left the flat and were making their way down to the cafe.

"Put the umbrella up Tom!" She yelled, over the loud pattering of the rain.

Tom extended the umbrella, and put it over Hannah and himself.

"This is cozy, eh?" Tom bellowed

Hannah looked at him, with makeup dripping down her face.

"Oh totally." She replied

They reached the zebra crossing, with the cafe opposite them.

"Let's cross!" Tom yelled

"TOM!"

Tom stepped out. BANG.

A car rammed into Tom's side, and he rolled over the car, and collapsed on the other side. There was a choir of screams all around Hannah. She ran over to Tom, and keeled over.

"TOM! NO! SOMEONE HELP! HE'S DEAD! HE'S DEAD!" She screamed at the top of her voice.

Everyone just stood at the side of the road, hands covering their mouths in horror.

"SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!" She yelled again.

3 Minutes later, the ambulance arrived, and Hannah got in the car.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry, but he's dead." Said one of the paramedics.

Hannah sat their, not blinking, staring at the wall in horror.

"Can you tell us what happened? Was it the cars fault? Was it...what's his name?"

"T-T-Tom" She stuttered

"Ok."

They arrived at the hospital, and Hannah was sat down in the waiting room, and was given a cup of tea. After 5 minutes, she stood up, and slowly walked out of the hospital, staring ahead.

"Ma'am? Where are you going? We need you for an investigation!" Yelled a police officer

Hannah completely ignored him, and carried on walking out of the building, until she left.

"Someone go after her!" Yelled another police officer

"No, we have her number and address, leave her." Said another

Hannah didn't look back, she just kept on walking, the destination set in her mind. She reached her block of flats, entered the lift to her apartment, and ascended. She walked into her apartment, chucked her hand bag on the sofa, and walked to the balcony door. As she was about to open the door, her mobile rung.

She turned round slowly, and picked up the phone from her bag.

"Hannah? I've just heard the news. I don't know what to say?" Said the person on the other end.

Hannah didn't say anything.

"Hannah? Look i'm nearly at your apartment, i'll be there in a second, hang on!"

Hannah hang up, and dropped the phone on the floor. She walked out onto the balcony, and closed the door behind her.

The woman that was on the other end of the phone was Hannah's sister. She walked up to Hannah's apartment, and saw the door wasn't closed properly, so walked.

"Hannah?"

She walked further into the apartment, and saw her mobile phone on the floor.

"Hannah! Where are you?"

Hannah's sister looked up, and saw Hannah standing on the wall of her balcony.

"HANNAH!" She yelled

She ran to the door, but Hannah had locked it.

"HANNAH LISTEN TO ME! GET OFF THEIR NOW!" She yelled, again.

She banged on the door, trying to get Hannah to turn around and face her. She then started kicking it, trying to brake the lock.

Hannah turned around, and said.

"Goodbye."

She fell backwards, out of sight.

"NO!"

BANG.

Blog #5 : My fun night!

Hey everyone!

It's 9 in the morning right now and i am tirrreeeeeddd :'( Haha! I'm so bored so i decided to right a blog! I shall tell you about what I've done since i last posted a blog...which is SOOO much....Oh who am i kidding -_-.

Well i watched X-factor for a bit, and then i played FIFA with my brother and my dad, which was very fun! (I hate football, just letting you know that!) So i was surprised that i actually enjoyed it haha! We thought we'd play because we haven't played for ages, as Tom is at Uni. So yh, we did it for old times sake ;)
After that, we played the video game Buzz. If you don't know what it is, it's a game where you have a buzzer in your hand, with four colours on it (Blue, orange, green and yellow) and the main big red buzzer at the top. And then therer are 11 rounds, with different purposes, i suppose. The first round you just get asked questions and have to answer them at your own pace. Then in other rounds you can get thrown in a pool of gunge, or get a pie to the face and things like that if you get the questions wrong, so you don't get any points. The last round is called "Final Countdown" and depending how many points you'd gathered throughout the game, it would determine how high your podium would rise. My Dad had been first throughout the whole game, so he rose the highest, and then my brother, and then me and then my sister. So i was fairly close to the floor, and then we get asked a question, and if you think too long, the podium starts to go down, and if it hits the floor, you're out. I managed to get lots right, so i rose up, and my dad lost! He was like "That's not fair! Just because my reactions aren't quick! I was first throughout the whole game!" Haha (In a joking way...not completely psychotic xD) So yh, i managed to win!

After that we watched Through The Keyhole on ITV which was very entertaining haha. Then after that I went to bed at about 11:30 :P

So yh, that was my night, thanks for reading!

Blog #4 : My Friends

Hey everyone!

It's currently 17:45, Saturday afternoon here in England, and i am KNACKERED. I have just done 5 hours of Geography coursework -_- Oh my god that was extremely boring. Never again! (Although i most likely will have to do that again...).

My brother, Tom, has come home from Uni for the weekend! Woop woop! Me, Tom ad my dad are going into town tomorrow morning, as Tom is upgrading is Iphone, so i may be getting his :O YAY! Haha :P But, the real focus of this blog, is about my friends. I want to tell you guys about my amazing friends, and what they're like! So, let's get started!

I have a group of best friends, and in my group, including me, are 3 girls and 3 boys. There's me (of course), Gemma, Leanne, Louise, Tom and Reiss.

Seeing as you already know what i'm like, and what i like, let's start with Gemma. Gemma is my amazing girlfriend! Ohmygosh she is amaaziiinggg and i love her so much <3 Haha xD She is VERY musical, and can play guitar exceptionally well, and can sing like an angel :') She is a massive directioner also...(I know...pahaha, i mean, One Direction? Ugh) Haha, so yh, she is also very intelligent and overall A.M.A.Z.I.N.G <3

Then there's Leanne, Gemma's best friend! Leanne also plays the guitar well,  and she also L.O.V.E.S The Hunger Games, which is cool! Annnddd she loves Harry Potter too. The only thing is, she doesn't really like Doctor who...i mean....COME ON?! Ughhhh ;)

Then there's my Bestie, Louiseeeee :D She is such an amazing friend, and is always there for me whenever i need help or advice with something. She is like the advice fairy :) I'm not in any of her classes at school though, which sucks, but still, she is such an amazing friend :')

Now we go onto the boys, Tom. Tom is ALSO an amazing friend, and he is going out with Louise :') He, like louise, is always there for me, no matter what :) He's always so kind to me, and we always have a laugh at school. He is very intelligent as well, especially at science and maths!

Finally, we have Reiss! He is ALSO a good friend! Reiss was one of my first friends when i joined my High School, and we had sooo much in common! We both loved Harry Potter, which was basically all we talked about haha! He would always call me Max, even though i kept telling him my name is Matt! Haha (It's a "be there" moment..)

There's also my fellow Whovian, Megan, but i don't hang around with her at school much, but ya'know ;) We're just mentally linked, seeing as we're both Whovians ;) Also, there's Abilash, who was my very first friend when i joined High school! He's in my form, so i get to see him there, and we always have a great laugh about things, and yh! That's it!

So yh! They're my amazing friends, and now you know who i hang around with!

Blog #3 : Bullying

Hey everyone!

I thought i'd make a blog addressing the issue of bullying. I know of a person that got bullied for his first couple of years when he joined the school in year 8. I instantly made friends with him, as he was completely alone. So we got to be great friends, and i used to help him when he got bullied and all that. I am actually a qualified anti-bullying ambassador! I went to this training session, and got a certificate and stuff. So i know all the things to do if someone is being bullied. If anyone out there reading this is being bullied here are some tips for you!

Bullying can include:

  • Hitting, kicking or pinching you
  • Saying mean things about you
  • Calling you names because of your race
  • Saying nasty things about you because of your language, religion or culture
  • Saying nasty things about you because of the way you look
  • Calling you names like ‘stupid’
  • Threatening you
  • Taking things from you or damaging your things
  • Putting you down because of your gender
  • Spreading rumours about you
  • Ignoring you or leaving you out- this can be ‘virtual’ on social networking sites as well as in the ‘real world’
  • Sending rude or threatening texts or emails or mobile phone videos.
  • Putting unpleasant things on the internet about you
  • So, if you are being bullied, you should:
    • Tell someone you really trust, such as a best friend or a family member
    • Completely ignore the bullies (I know it sounds silly, but trust me, it really does work!) They will eventually get bored if you don't react.
    • Call ChildLine (0800-1111)
    • Just laugh when they say horrible things about you, and try not to take offence to it, and just think that you are unique.
Ok guys, i hope that helped, just thought i'd put that out there on a serious note haha!
