Blog #11 : Through the Mirror : Chapter 3

Charlie was thrown around in the darkness, and the G-force hit him immensely. Suddenly, the world materialized around him, and he suddenly hit the floor, face buried in fresh, green grass. He didn't move, out of pure fear. He heard the sound of seagulls, and the sea crashing against the shore. Followed by laughing voices in the distance. He slowly lifted his head up, and observed his surroundings. He was on a small hill above a beautiful beach, with white sand and clear blue sea.

"Where am I?" He muttered to himself

Then it hit him. He wasn't holding the present his dad had bought him. His heart dropped, and he started thinking we it could be. He thought he might have let go of it when he was travelling through the mirror without noticing.

"No..." He whispered

Then he saw it. It was buried in the long, green grass about 3 meters away from where he materialized. He ran as fast as he could to grab hold of it, and sat in the grass holding it tightly. He thought he should open it, as he was very curious. He looked around him, just to make sure no one was watching, and then slowly took off the wrapping paper, that read.

"Birthday boy"

A single tear fell down Charlie's cheek.

"I'm sorry, Dad."

He took all of the wrapping paper off, and he gasped. It was a wand.

"Oh my god..." He said

He opened the box that the wand was encased in, and gasped, again.

"It's...it's beautiful."

It was about 10 inches long, and had quite a bulky handle in a ball shape, and then shaft was extremely thin. Charlie held it in his hands, and examined it.

"Who's that?" Shouted a voice from the beach.

Charlie's head shot up, and saw a young boy and girl walking up the hill towards him. Hi jumped up and pointed the wand at them.

"Don't come any closer!" He shouted

The two young teenagers looked at each other funnily, and then started laughing hysterically.

"We aren't going to hurt you! Mine name's Skylar, and this is my younger brother, Merlin." Said the girl.

Charlie's heart was beating fast, but slowly lowered his wand. He thought Skylar was beautiful. She had fairly long, blonde hair, and fascinating blue eyes. This didn't help his heart beat. Merlin was taller smaller than Charlie, with short, light brown hair. He had quite a peculiar face, but you could tell they were related.

"I'm Charlie. Where am I?" He asked

The two teenagers looked quite perplexed.

"You're in Caspia..." Said Skylar

"Where...?" Charlie asked

Skylar and Merlin looked at each other more confused than before.

"You really don't know, do you? Who are you?" Merlin queried

"I told you, I'm Charlie!" He shouted

No one said anything.

"I was in my basement, and i touched this mirror, and i ended up here?"

Skylar and Merlin looked extremely shocked.

"No way..." Said Merlin

"Charlie, are you from earth?" Skylar asked, slowly.

"Of course! ... Is this not Earth!?" He yelled

"No...this is the wizarding world of Caspia, Charlie." Replied skylar.

"You are a wizard, right?" Asked Merlin.

"Yeah, i am. I turned 14 today. I don't really know many spells, sorry for threatening you."

Skylar and Merlin both laughed together.

"It's fine" They said, in unison.

"Come, we'll show you our home!" Skylar said.

They started walking along the hill, away from the beach. No one said anything for a while, until Skylar and Merlin began whispering to themselves. Charlie admired the amazing surroundings, and then realized he was crying. He was thinking if his dad had ever been here, and that he would've loved it. He wiped away the tears quickly, trying not to look weak.

They reached a well canopied forest, with large oak tree's. Charlie carried on following the siblings into the forest. They turned a corner, and arrived in an opening. Charlie stopped, and stared. There was an enormous tree, with windows, and massive branches shooting out from the sides.

"This is our home, Charlie." Skylar said, with a smile etched on her face.

"It's...it's..." Charlie hesitated.

"It's beautiful" He finished.
